John Scott

Lead Cybersecurity Researcher, Culture AI

John Scott is the Lead Cyber Security Researcher for Culture AI, a comprehensive Human Risk Management platform that empowers organisations to effectively measure employee security behaviours and reduce cyber risks.

He is also an instructor for the SANS Institute course LDR433: Managing Human Risk, teaching classes all around the world on managing human risk, as well as being an international speaker on security culture change.

Previously, he worked in a senior security transformation role at BT and was Head of Security Education for the Bank of England for nearly 7 years, running an internationally recognised culture change programme for the UK’s central bank. John’s key passion is the need for security to be a champion of their colleagues, rather than just being the ‘department of NO’. He hates the phrase ‘users are the weakest link.’

Katie Ralph

Director, Solutions Engineering EMEA, SonicWall

Katie is an industry-recognised thought-leader and event speaker, and a people-focused and passionate cyber evangelist with a strong technical foundation. Previously named a ‘Top 10 Women in Cyber’ winner, she has held positions as a dedicated specialist in cyber, in addition to life as both a vendor and customer. Her profession has spanned investigations, sales engineering, enablement and leadership roles with extensive outreach and external engagement. Katie’s career began at the Bank of England, then onto a CTF winner, and has since progressed to presenting and sitting on expert panels at conferences such as InteropITX and Blackhat USA, as well as authoring online articles and collaborating with DarkReading. Katie is currently Director, Solutions Engineering EMEA at SonicWall.

Lindsay Thorburn

Risk and Governance Practice Lead, CDS Defence & Security

Lindsay is the Cyber Security Risk & Governance Practice Lead at CDS Defence & Security, helping a diverse customer-base to address the challenges they face from today’s cybersecurity threats. He’s also the Governance and Ethics Lead for Artificial Intelligence and is responsible for developing and overseeing the company's AI governance framework. Lindsay recently became a member of West Midlands Cyber Resilience Centre’s (WMCRC) Advisory Board, providing guidance and advice to help influence the direction of the centre and the people and businesses it serves.

His previous roles saw him working in the Ministry of Defence managing cyber security incidents for the British Army, helping them understand their exposure to cyber threats across their operating environments, and managing vulnerabilities that spanned their entire digital enterprise. He’s also held roles designing secure networks that enabled multi-national organisations share data across in complex environments, without compromising the security, ownership, and control of their own information.

Neil Limbrick FISBL MBCS

Founder – the Education Collective

Neil has worked in Education full time since November 2000. He has worked in a range of Schools and Multi-Academy Trusts and is now a full time IT Consultant and Partner at his own firm, Limbrick Consultancy LLP. He also sits on various committees including the Birmingham Association of School Business Management and is both Chair of the Sandwell SBM Network and an ambassador for the Association of Network Managers in Education (ANME). Neil also supports various education based organisations including school improvement and governance teams, arts and culture co-ordinators, sports providers and SBM Training providers. He has worked with the DfE on a range of projects including the teacher vacancy service, the schools buying strategy and most recently with the digital and technology standards. Neil has also served as a parent, staff, trust appointed and community governor – including being Chair of Governors in two schools and Vice Chair in a third. Under the guise of theEducationCollective, Neil supports a network of around 100 online communities supporting a range of education based peer to peer groups such as governing bodies, Multi Academy Trusts, Teaching School Alliances, Headteacher consortiums and Commercial Software user groups. In total, this equates to around 10,000 users, but it is the 5000 School Business Managers in the 40 or so Local, Regional and Specialist National Networks that Neil devotes much of his spare time supporting.

A regular speaker at conferences, Neil has provided training and workshops on a wide range of topics including cyber security, IT Strategy, website compliance, recruitment, asset management, GDPR and communication strategies. Neil is passionate about the use of IT to support all aspects of school life, especially communication.

Robin Smith

Head of Cyber and Information Security @ Aston Martin

Robin is a CISO and expert policy analyst, focusing his work on the future of cyber-crime. Robin has worked across UK law enforcement, nuclear industry and automotive, promoting lean cyber security as a strategy for corporate transformation. He is the author of four books and numerous articles on privacy management, cybernetics and future studies. His recent feature documentary, ‘Machina; Building the Immortal Technologies’, won the Gold Award at the New York Sound and Vision Film Festival 2021.

I’m Dave, the Azure Sales Manager at Westcoast Cloud. I’ve been there almost seven years now and it’s been a total blast! It’s a real thrill getting out and about talking to our partners and their end users. I’m looking forward to speaking about Cloud Security with you all.
