Product Information
Cisco Application Services Engine is one platform that is designed to host multiple insights and operations applications. Customers now can provision one appliance cluster to run various applications simultaneously instead of having to manage independent appliance clusters. Microservices' based applications such as Cisco Network Insights can now enjoy the benefits of "zero-touch" network automation. Based on powerful compute hardware, the cluster comprises three initial nodes. Each node is powered with 20 cores, 9.6TB of HDD, 256G memory, and 1.6TB of NVME SSD. Nodes can be added to the initial cluster to power additional application needs.
-
Unified platform
Customers can now run their insights and day-2 operations applications on a single appliance cluster. As the application needs for compute and storage grow, the cluster can scale horizontally to fit those needs. There is no need to provision separate appliances for different applications.
-
Network automation
With the Cisco Application Services Engine, all the authentication, network provisioning, and automation that the applications need (for example for setting up telemetry paths) is done by the Cisco Application Services Engine itself, so applications do not need to worry about where they are running in the cluster.
-
Modern microservices architecture
Applications can take advantage of re-usable platform services, such as Elasticsearch and Kafka, provided by the Cisco Application Services Engine for a modular maintenance approach. Kubernetes orchestration is used for lifecycle management of the applications running on the Cisco Application Services Engine.
