IT Expo returns to Birmingham

IT Expo Panel

Birmingham’s largest B2B tech event will return to Millennium Point on October 15.

In association with IT procurement platform Probrand, IT Expo 2024 is designed to help business and IT leaders to enhance resilience, innovation and efficiency.

Previously known as the Cyber Security Expo, the name change reflects this year’s enhanced agenda, covering three core streams linked to delegate priorities: cyber security, cloud and digital workspace, and budget optimisation.

Interactive sessions running throughout the day will cover a variety of topics, aimed at supporting IT and business leaders. These range from a panel debate around AI use cases, a first-hand account of dealing with a cyber attack that hit the national news, overcoming the volatile IT market, plus the latest strategies for innovation across cloud and digital workspaces.

Speakers include:

  • Jim Browning, renowned software engineer turned Youtuber and member of the BBC’s BAFTA award-winning ‘Scam Interceptors’ programme, will share What business can learn from scamming the scammers.
  • Jon Staniforth, former CISO at Royal Mail, who will be sharing key learnings from the Royal Mail ransomware attack of 2023.
  • KPMG’s Cloud Capability Lead, Peter Cridland, who will provide tips on how to review and control spiralling cloud costs.

Matt Royle, Marketing Director, Probrand, said: “IT and business leaders are juggling a number of different challenges that centre around maximising complex budgets, mitigating security risks and driving innovation that supports productivity and growth. IT Expo is designed to help leaders meet these challenges head-on with a mix of 20 thought leadership sessions from expert peers, along with tech surgeries and networking opportunities.

‘‘Delegate feedback requested the same great event but bigger, with wider subject matter and more exhibitors. We listened and this year’s event is set to go even further in helping to serve those responsible for IT in their organisation.”

Over 30 market-leading technology brands will be exhibiting including Google, EPOS, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, Samsung, SonicWall and more, giving attendees the opportunity to discover the latest technology solutions and services available to support them.
